Born of an immigrant’s passion in booming pre-prohibition Memphis, Old Dominick’s spirits and stories are still made to be shared. Whether neat or as the star of a favorite cocktail, choice grains and dedication to craft shine through in our Tennessee Whiskey. Starting with legendarily sweet artesian well water from hundreds of feet right below our downtown distillery, and patiently aged in white oak barrels of handpicked regional timber, our whiskeys are instilled with five generations of Domenico Canale’s old-fashioned values. It’s not just a Tennessee whiskey, it’s Memphis whiskey.

Why TN?

Back before the law stepped in to keep scalawags from ruining the good name of “Tennessee Whiskey,” Domenico Canale was already true to the spirit, dealing only in whiskeys produced with traditional charcoal filtering and white oak aging, which mellow the taste but never diluted the strength of the spirit.

Ingredients
  • 2 oz Old Dominick Tennessee Whiskey
  • ½ oz Frangelico
  • 3 oz of Black Tea
  • ¼ oz Pure Cane Simple syrup
  • Bitters
Preparation
  1. Combine all ingredients in a shaker filled with cracked ice
  2. Shake vigorously until chilled
  3. Pour over large, cracked ice in a Julep cup

Tee Thyme

Ingredients
  • 2oz Old Dominick Tennessee Whiskey
  • 2oz Peach Nectar (peeled sliced peaches blended with water)
  • 2oz unsweet tea
  • 4 thyme sprigs
Preparation
  1. Combine all ingredients in a shaker filled with cracked ice
  2. Shake vigorously until chilled
  3. Pour over large, cracked ice in a rocks glass
  4. Garnish with thyme sprig

Nautical

Ingredients
  • 1 brown sugar cube
  • 1 medium cube of pineapple
  • 3 mint leaves
  • 2oz Bourbon
  • ginger ale
Preparation
  1. Muddle sugar cubes, pineapple, and mint in cocktail glass
  2. Add bourbon and ice to glass, then shake
  3. Finish with ginger ale

Rye whiskeys are said to be bold and upfront, characteristics that Domenico Canale prized in his spirits and required of the company he kept. With a 44% rye mashbill, we feel certain that our High Rye Bourbon would sit proudly amongst Old Dominick and his raucous friends.

  • Basil or cherries (optional)
Preparation
  1. Shake vigorously with cracked ice
  2. Strain

Domenico Canale believed in balance, with an even-handedness that made friends of enemies and brought him storied success. Crafting our fine wheat whiskey required a balance no less adept, coaxing the subtlety of the grain into a spirit of wondrous smoothness.

  • 2 dashes Chocolate Bitters
  • ¼ oz Vanilla Bean
  • Simple Syrup to taste
  • 1oz Fresh Orange Juice
Preparation
  1. Place all ingredients in a shaker with ice
  2. Stir
  3. Strain and Pour in a low ball glass over ice
